The Hilly of Uttarakhand provides many opportunities for hiking, trekking and rock climbing.

Trekking is considered as adventure activity , Treks of Uttarakhand are divided into  3 categories, easy, moderate and hard, easy tracks are those which are 10 to 12 kilometers long, meaning up and down ,total can be long up to 24 km on these tracks. Accommodation and food is available .In the moderate trek , there are treks in which there is a place and accommodation available, but somewhere we have to arrange our own system. We have to carry our own tent . This track can be from 12 to 25 km long means up-hill and down-hill from 24km to 50 km in length. Hard  treks need  good stamina and willpower for their tough treks. It is necessary that you cannot go alone on these treks because you can forget the way, you need expert guides and porter. Climbing is a bit difficult and there may be a shortage of oxygen as well, we have to make all the arrangements ourselves and can also keep oxygen cylinders at some point. lets start with  Best Treks of Uttarakhand.

1. Dodital-Durwa Top Track –

For Dodital trek, start with Rishikesh  then Narendra Nagar and go to Uttarkashi via Sangam Chatti, this trek starts from Sangam Chatti.  Agoda , bewal chatti and manjhi villege are there in the trek, Food is available here ,The distance from Sangam Chtti to Dodi Tal is 22 kilometers and after that the trek of  Durwa top from Dodi Tal is a little of 5 kilometers. Dodi tal height is 10806 feet and the height of durwa top is 13780 ft .The best season of this trek is from March to November but most of the trekkers do this track in winter also, in winter this track comes under medium to difficult category, thus the total distance of this is 54 kilometers. There is a very big lake in Dodital where there is a temple of Lord Ganesha. it is also known as birthplace of lord Ganesha,  from here you can see 360 degrees of Himalayan View. Dodital and Durwa top  both are very attractive place.  in this track  consistently waterfalls and beautiful  forest can be seen,

2. Har ki Doon

For this trek start form Dehradun  then to Vikas Nagar then Nainbag  then Toli then Naugaon then Purula then Mori and finaly  Taluka Village from Sakriya . This Trek start form taluka villege . Seema, hutla , and kalkhatiya dhar these villages are on the way where the arrangement of fooding can be done by the local villagers ,here  you also  can arrange your own tent  . Har ki Doon Valley is a very lovely . Snow covered mountain peacks and valley can be seen in the middle which will fascinate you. You can do the trekking of barso  pass which is in glacier and 12 km away and you can also do another trekking runsara  from Har ki Doon which is 8 kilometers away. The Best Season for this trek is April to Mid November , Although many  trackers do it in Winter  also but in Winter Track comes in Moderate to Difficult category. Dehradun to Taluka Village is 194 KM and this Total Track is 44 km. It means that on  22 up and and 22 down . During trekking  very beautiful farming, forest and a beautiful peaks of Himalayas can be seen.

3. Kedarkantha Trek.

Kedarkantha trek is snow-trek and it is trekked  in winter, its best season is from November to mid March but some people do it in summer also but in the summer season it is a waste to spend time and money on this trek. This trek also starts from the Sankri village before the Taluka. The height of Kedarkantha is 12509 ft. This trek is a complete snow trek, it is about 6 km kilometers long, Here you  do snow treking. To stay here, you have to carry your own tent. Many travel agents book this trek, you can enjoy this trek with them by booking online. From Kedarkantha, you can enjoy snow covered mountains from where You will get to see the full 360 Himalayan view, the distance of very beautiful trek is 10 kilometers i.e. up-hill and down-hill, this trek is total  20 kilometers long.

4.Nag Tibba Trek.

Nag tibba trek is an easy trek. The distance from Dehradun is 75 km. The distance starts from Pantwari Gaon, sitting at a distance of 75 km. From Vikas Nagar to Yamuna Bridge in Dehradun ,  reach Pantwari Gaon. This trek is 12 km long i.e  uphill and downhill. The total distance is 24 km and the height of Nag tibba is 9914 fit. This trek is a specially winter trek which is considered  as snowtrek but  The trekkers make this trek through the year, but the real fun of this trek is from December to March First Week. There are a lot of guest houses in Pantwari village to stay, after this, after tracking for 3 kilometers, there is a big hotel goat village, after that there are camping sites where the locals keep their camps , you can stay there too. In further climb, the temple of Nag Devta is the major attraction here. And from the top you can see a full 360 degree view of the Himalayas, in winter this entire track is covered with snow and this beauty is worth seeing. This trek can be a weekend track for people around Delhi.

5.Tungnath -Chandrshila Trek.

This trek starts with Chopta(Rudraprayag). This is a very famous hill station where a lot of tourists visit every year. The total distance from Delhi via Rishikesh Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Ukhimath is 365 km, after 365 km the drive ends and from here the track of 6 km Chandrashila starts. The total distance of Chandrashila trek is 6 km and 6 down total is 12 km. It is an easy track and is considered to a winter track. In Winter, this entire track is covered with snow and its beauty is amazing, you can see a full 360 degree view of the Himalayas from Chandrashila Peak, you will see snow covered mountains from here . Sky in Winter is very clear. And you can see all the famous peaks of Himalayas from Chandrashila Peak, where photography has its own fun. The height of Chandrashila is 13123 feet. This is a one-day track and there is no need for you to stay in top, Shri Tungnath ji  temple is on the way that is worth seeing ,Tungnath is the world’s highest altitude (3600 m) Shiva temple.everyone should do this Chandrashila trek at once. The best season of Chandrashila trek is from November to February, but this trek is equally beautiful all year.

6.Roopkund Trek

If you want to enjoy solo trekking and adventure traveling then Roopkund trek located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand may be the best for you.It is located near the bottom of Trishul and Nandghungti, two peaks of the Himalayas.Roopkund is also called Skeleton Lake.

To go to Roopkund, first go to Haridwar. After this, Rishikesh then Devprayag. From there to Srinagar Garhwal. After this, Karnprayag again thrali. After this, Debal and then Vana-Bedni Bugyal will again reach Bakhuwabasa. From where  go to Kelu Vinayak. Then you will reach your thrilling destination Roopkund. Apart from this, if you want to go from Kathgodam(kumaon) then first Almora then Gwaladam then Mundoli village, then Vana village. After this, Bedni will again reach Kelu Vinayak and from here you will reach Roopkund.
